Masteron is the trade name for Drostanolone Propionate and is an anabolic steroid, a derivative of dihydrotestostone (DHT), and an anti-estrogenic drug. Masteron does not produce estrogen and actually reduces the amount of estrogen in the body. This is an injectable steroid.

There are actually two types of this drug. Masteron Propionate is the fast acting version that is easily metabolized by the body. Masteron Enanthate is the longer acting version and stays in the body for a longer period of time. The user receives the same results from either drug, but difference how they are dosed.

Masteron was designed to be used to fight breast cancer, and it has proven successful as a breast cancer drug. It is not often prescribed for this purpose these days by the medical community because of the risks associated with this drug. Now days often safer drugs are prescribed instead. However, Masteron unlike some of the other steroids it is still prescribed in the United States.

As mentioned above the trade name for Masteron is Drostanolone Propionate but it is also referred to as Mastqabol, Mast, and Masto.

Masteron increases hardness and density of muscle by counteracting estrogen and its effects. Masteron also stops the production of fat particles in the body while building lean muscle at the same time. This makes Masteron popular in the bodybuilding community as a muscle defining drug with few side effects seen in other steroids. Masteron users report that due to lack of water retention while taking this drug, their muscles feel full and tight. Though it is popular in the bodybuilding and athletic community, this drug is that is quite expensive and difficult to find.

The active life of Masteron is 2 to 3 days. The detection life of this drug in the body through urine testing is 3 weeks. The effective recommended dose of Masteron Propionate for men is 300 mg per week up to 500 mg per week given every other day. The effective recommended dose of Masteron Enanthate for men is given every 2 days at 400 to 600 mg per week.

Masteron is not a great steroid choice for women athletes and bodybuilders because it is a DHT based compound that promotes male characteristics such as increased growth of body hair, enlargement of the clitoris, and deepening of the voice. It is recommended for women who decide to take Masteron take low doses.

Even though side effects for Masteron are considered low, side effects still exist. Common side effects reported by both sexes while taking Masteron include: acne, oily skin, hair loss, fatigue, mental changes including depression, anxiety, and aggression. Side effects noticed by men taking Masteron include aggression, and prostate enlargement. Side effects noticed by women take Masteron include development of male characteristics mentioned above that are irreversible.

Masteron does not produce estrogen so water retention and high blood pressure are not a problem associated with this drug. Masteron is not toxic to the liver so there is little stress placed on it even during longer cycles. There are also no reports of gastrointestional problems while taking this drug.
